The internet loves a rule about the perfect day to book. For premium cabins, that rule does not hold. What moves the price is availability in the contracted fare classes, and that changes by route and season.
What matters more than the date
- Routing. The carrier and connection you choose can change the fare more than the calendar does.
- Availability. Premium seats in the discounted classes are limited, so the earlier you look on popular routes, the better.
- Flexibility. A day either side often unlocks a materially better fare.
A practical approach
For peak periods and the busiest long-haul routes, start early. For quieter routes, there is more room to wait. Either way, share a date range rather than a single day, and let the desk price the options side by side.
